*Partial month: our record starts on 15 October 2026, so the October figure covers 17 days while the indices cover the whole month. It is shown for transparency, not as a like-for-like comparison. “Pending” means the provider has not yet published that figure. HFRI figures are HFR’s monthly estimates. VisionTrack figures are estimates, with final values about 60 days later.

Why these benchmarks

HFRI Fund Weighted Composite, from HFR, is a widely used benchmark of hedge fund returns across strategies, calculated net of fees.

We trade crypto futures, so we also show the VisionTrack crypto hedge fund indices (composite and market neutral, from Galaxy) and Bitcoin. They describe how crypto-focused hedge funds and the underlying asset did in the same period.

Why we do not use “best hedge fund” rankings

Popular lists, for example the 13F-based ranking at Hedge Fund Alpha, measure the three-year return of each fund’s largest long US equity holdings from public 13F filings. They leave out short positions, derivatives, cash, non-US holdings and fees, and arrive with a delay. They are not the audited return investors received.

A strategy that trades crypto futures long and short, like ours, would not appear in such a ranking, and our brief record could not fairly sit beside a three-year figure.

Frequently asked questions

How does Van Rojas Capital compare with hedge funds?

We show our monthly result in percent next to the HFRI Fund Weighted Composite, the VisionTrack crypto hedge fund indices and Bitcoin. Our record started on 2026-10-15, so nothing is annualised and we make no claim of outperformance.

What is the HFRI Fund Weighted Composite Index?

It is an equal-weighted index of hedge fund returns reported to HFR, calculated net of fees, and a widely used benchmark for the industry as a whole.

Which indices track crypto hedge funds?

The VisionTrack Crypto Hedge Fund Indices from Galaxy track actively managed crypto and digital asset hedge funds. We show the composite and the market neutral index.

Why not compare with the best-performing hedge funds?

Best-fund lists usually rank the three-year return of long US equity holdings from 13F filings. They exclude short positions, derivatives and fees, and they cannot include a crypto futures strategy.

When will Sharpe, Sortino and Calmar ratios be shown?

After 90 days of history, from 13 Jan 2027. Annualised return and a 12-month track record follow from 15 Oct 2027.

Is this investment advice?

No. Past results do not guarantee future results, and leveraged crypto futures can lose a large part of the capital.
